Allard Auctions, Inc., with home offices on the Flathead Indian Reservation in St. Ignatius, Montana, has been selling exclusively American Indian artifacts and art at auction for longer than any other auction house in the country. Founded by Col. Doug Allard in 1968, it was purchased in 1997 by his son, Steve, who has since been striving to incorporate the most up-to-date technology to provide our customers with the most efficient service while still maintaining a friendly, down-to-earth, traditional auction experience.
Identified by USA Today as one of the “10 great places to do your bidding”, Allard Auctions conducts at least three large “catalog” auctions per year, two in Phoenix, Arizona and one in Santa Fe, selling 1000 to 1500 items during those two or three day events. Items that are offered include indigenous basketry, Navajo rugs and weavings, Pueblo and prehistoric pottery, Indian jewelry, original art, bronzes, and limited edition prints, NW coast and Eskimo relics and carvings, Katsina dolls, stone relics and arrowheads, and some of the rarest and most sought after beadwork offered. We also often include rare photographs and books, antique trade beads, and always include a few related pieces from other cultures such as Mexico, South America, Africa and Asia. Bidding for these large auction events can be done in person at the auctions, by traditional absentee bidding (via mail, fax, phone, or online), by phone, and most recently through live online bidding over the Internet.
Beautiful full color illustrated catalogs for these events are available for purchase approximately 3 to 4 weeks prior to each auction and include a post-sale Prices Realized listing. You can also view the items in our online catalog approximately 3 weeks prior to each auction.
In addition to the catalog auctions, Allard Auctions also conducts smaller, one-day sales on the West Coast in Portland, Seattle, Coeur d’Alene, ID, and Missoula, MT. These two- to three-day auction weekends take place 6 to 8 times per year and consist of approximately 300 items per location.
